Bill and Linda Modry were going to visit their newly adopted granddaughter. The family was finally welcoming a little girl and the happy grandparents were excited to bring her a special gift that they had made for her to help remember this special moment in her life.

When the couple got to the security gate at the airport they were informed that they couldn’t take the package on the plane. The couple was devastated and Bill begged to leave it in the airport’s lost and found.

Sadly, security had no sympathy for him and his wife, and made them throw the special gift in the trash. The couple was heart-broken.

Amarri Hernandez and her boyfriend were waiting at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport where they watched the whole incident take place. When Amarri saw the man walking away from the trashcan in tears, she knew they had to do something.

Her boyfriend went to the trashcan and retrieved the package. What they saw was a snowglobe that had been customized with photos of them and the little girl inside. It was engraved with, “We love you Katie, Nana and Papa 1/25/16.

Amarri, knowing how precious the gift would be to the little girl and how important it had been to the grandparents sent out a post on Facebook in an effort to locate the grandparents that were forced to throw the prized gift away.

Her post was shared over 40,000 times and luckily, caught the eye of just the right person. An employee of “Things Remembered” contacted Amarri immediately. The company had made the custom snowglobe and she looked up records to locate the couple for Amarri.

Amarri was able to meet with the happy grandparents who were shocked and amazed at her kindness. “She’s just amazing. I can’t believe she did this,” said Linda. “People are basically really good, and she’s just exceptional.”

Amarris says she just did what she thought was right. “My mom raised us to always be good to people,” she says. “I would want the same thing to happen to me.”
