Service dogs go above and beyond to help people in need, and they make miracles happen for them every day. Recently, a service dog made a different kind of miracle happen as she waited for a flight at Tampa International Airport.

Travelers were concerned when they saw 2 year-old Eleanor “Elle” Rigby lay down in the middle of the airport. The dog looked exhausted, and onlookers immediately rushed over to help her.

Everyone soon realized that the dog was not sick and was instead pregnant! She ended up going into labor right there in the airport!

As Elle went into labor, Tampa Fire Rescue and airport personnel rushed to the scene to try and help her. Though everyone was excited for the birth, one onlooker was looking forward to it more than anyone else. The father, a yellow Labrador named Nugget, looked on with happiness as Elle gave birth to his puppies!

As each puppy was born, they were greeted by a round of applause from those in the airport. Elle gave birth to a healthy liter of eight puppies, seven of which were boys and one of which was a girl!

Though the birth went off without a hitch, the only problem was that Elle’s owner and her daughter missed their flight. This meant that they had to drive 1,000 miles from Tampa to Philadelphia! At least they now have eight more traveling companions to keep them company!
