There’s nothing worse than being in a situation where you need to buy something important, like milk for your children, only to be told that your credit card is declined. You try your card again and again, hoping that nobody can see what is going on.

Most people would end up walking out of the store at this point, never to return out of embarrassment, but one pawn shop customer handled this situation differently. He needed shoes desperately, so when his credit card was declined, he came back with a police officer to help him! When the cashier asked if there was a problem, the officer had a response that nobody was expecting.

The pawn shop’s cashier Alicia Danielle took to Facebook to reveal what happened in a post that has since gone viral.

“So this guy comes in to buy a pair of shoes because his are literally falling off. Anyway, his card wouldn’t work so he left,” she wrote.

The man was desperate to purchase the shoes, so a short time later, he shocked the cashier by returning with a cop! When Alicia asked the officer what the issue was, the cop responded that there was no problem, and that he would like to buy the shoes for the man! She ended up agreeing to split the cost with the cop, and they ended up buying the shoes together!

Alicia said that since their was nobody else in the shop, neither of them did this act of kindness to get any recognition.

Alicia decided to share the story because she feels there is too much hatred in the world right now, and that everyone should be reminded how powerful acts of kindness can be.

“We still have so far to go, but I promise you small acts of kindness like this are what’s going to rebuild trust and faith in our communities. I didn’t get the cop’s name but this didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated by me or the customer,” she wrote.
