High school graduation is an exciting time for students and theirs parents alike. While it is often an emotional ceremony for parents, it’s rare that the students graduating from high school end up crying themselves. The teens are usually far too excited to finally be going out into the world to cry!

In the video below this story, however, graduation went very differently for one student named Miranda. When she walked into the ceremony, she had no idea she would end up crying in front of her entire class!

The ceremony at this Florida high school had just begun, and the graduating class was standing facing the stage when the guest speaker walked in.

As the speaker took the stage and said, “Good evening everybody. Would you please join me in The Pledge of Allegiance?” Miranda burst into tears! Her classmates were confused, as this isn’t a very emotional question, and things got even more odd when Miranda kept sobbing throughout the entire pledge. It turns out that nobody in the graduating class knew who the guest speaker was, except for Miranda…

When the students were told to be seated, Miranda suddenly bolted for the stage. Nobody in her class knew, but the speaker dressed in uniform was actually her brother Derek!

Derek is an Airman who had been deployed overseas, but he was able to get home and surprise his little sister on her big day!
