There’s nothing fun about aging, and the physical process of it can do very strange things to the human body. While the aches and pains of getting older are certainly annoying, it’s important to remember that they are also perfectly normal parts of aging.
What you should really be worrying about, however, are some of the strange symptoms below that could signify you are suffering from a serious health problem. We’ve compiled eight of these symptoms below:
Bad Breath

If you are brushing your teeth every day and using mouthwash, having bad breath consistently could signify something is very wrong. Diabetes patients often have a sweet or fruity odor on the breath, which is a sign of ketoacidosis. This is when the body is burning an unhealthy amount of fat because of an imbalance in insulin.
If your breath has an odor of ammonia, it could be a sign of kidney disease. If your bad breath is accompanied by abdominal pain or difficulty breathing, you need to contact your doctor immediately.
Hearing Loss

While this can be a common symptom of aging, conditions like diabetes can greatly speed up this process of losing hearing. In fact, hearing loss is twice as common in patients who have diabetes, as high glucose levels in your bloodstream could be causing damage to your ears.
Colorful Urine

The ideal color of your urine is clear or the color of lemonade, which shows you are drinking enough water. If your urine is a dark yellow, it’s a sign that you are dehydrated, which could be a sign of a bad medical condition.
Diabetes patients often have dark or cloudy urine, while pink urine could be a sign of a urinary tract infection or cancer.
Toenails That Aren’t Growing

If the nails on your toes are not growing, you should see a doctor immediately, as this is a symptom of peripheral artery disease, or PAD. Other symptoms of this disease include cold feet with bluish skin, ulcers, and slower hair growth on your legs.
Heel Pain

Pain in your feet is likely common for you if you are working on your feet all day. However, if this pain is consistently in your heel, you should get this checked out. Degenerative bone injuries and pinched nerves in other areas of the body are often felt in the heel because of a quirk in our bodies, so this can be a major sign of a series issue.
An Urge To Eat Ice

Though some people enjoy snacking on ice, a strong compulsion to do it is a sign of anemia. Pica is the word doctors use for urges to eat non-food substances, and this can also be a sign of emotional and psychological conditions.
Striped Hair

If you start growing this funky hairstyle naturally, call a doctor immediately. Though it may be caused by an imbalance in your diet, striped hair can also be caused by serious conditions such as ulcers and colitis.
Jaw Pain

Chronic jaw pain that lasts for a long time is a sign of TMJ, which is a jaw misalignment. Though this is hard to treat, it’s better to know that you are suffering from it than to not know at all, as your doctors can help you come up with ways to ease the pain.
