If you’ve ever ridden on the subway, you know it isn’t the most relaxing experience. The hustle and bustle of hundreds, even thousands, of people heading to work and all the places they need to go makes for really cramped quarters with people pushing and shoving their way onto the next ride.
When commuters at one New York subway headed home after a long day at work, they heard a noise blaring through the tunnels that made them stop in their tracks. They’d heard plenty of strange noises in the underground facilities, but this was nothing like they’d ever heard there before.
Trying to make the world slow down a bit and appreciate life was soul singer Mike Yung. Paired with two other musicians, Mike has been performing in the subway for nearly four decades and his aim is simply to make the world a happy place.

In the video below, you’ll just hear one of Mike’s many performances, and this one he sings a soul-filled version of “Unchained Melody.” I literally got goosebumps as I heard him belt out the lyrics to this classic song.
For one brief moment, the commuters left their hectic world and stepped into the soul-filled surroundings of Mike and his music. If you watch the video and think Mike looks familiar, you’re probably right. He appeared on America’s Got Talent last year and a video of him performing has gone viral.
Check out Mike and his beautiful, booming voice in the video below. This is one you need to just take a break and sit back and enjoy. Share it with your friends, because they too probably need to just take a moment for themselves out of their hectic day.
