A custodian was cleaning a school on a cold December night when he heard a knock on the door. He hurried over to the door and looked through the window, only to see something that he was never expecting.

When he got to the door, the janitor saw a little boy running away, which puzzled him given the fact that it was a little late for a child that age to be out alone. The janitor then opened the door and saw a cardboard box in front of him with a puppy inside it!

As he lifted the dog up, the custodian saw that the box had a note on it.

“Sorry it didn’t have a home, and it was cold, so we’re going to give it to you. Please do let it go find it a nice home. Thank you,” the note read.

The custodian had no idea what to do with the puppy, so he called a teacher he knew who loved dogs.  The teacher ended up taking the puppy home with her to foster the dog until she could find her a home. She even ended up naming her Snowflake!

The teacher asked the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue to help her find Snowflake a forever home, and just days before Christmas, a family adopted Snowflake!

“Hi, my name is Snowflake, and I am happy to announce that I have officially been adopted!!” the Detroit Pit Crew posted on Facebook alongside a photo of Snowflake and his new family.

The little boy who brought Snowflake to the school has never been identified, but he is a hero who helped this dog find her forever home!
