Having twins is a joyful, but stressful event. For Erica Newschafer, she had already experienced giving birth to twins once. Although the mother loves her twins and the outcome of her delivery was nothing short of amazing, when she found out she was expecting twins yet again just four years after the first set of twins, she began preparing for another grueling birth experience.
Luckily for Erica, the birth of her second set of twins wasn’t what she was expecting. Her husband Weston arrived at the hospital with his camera and caught the entire event on video. The nurses gasped and covered their mouths in awe as Erica gave birth to two beautiful, healthy baby boys in just three hours. They joined older siblings Mylee and twins Kai and Mia.

Although having two sets of twins isn’t unheard of, they make for a unique and special birth experience for everyone involved. Erica’s story is just one of many unique birth experiences that have been shared across the internet.
Compared to Erica’s three hour delivery, Angel Taylor’s delivery was a complete nightmare. The Washington state mother spent four days giving birth to her youngest son. She was induced one week before her due date because her blood pressure was dangerously high.

The mother had a lot of other complications as well, including gestational diabetes, so it was already a high risk pregnancy. Taylor’s body was slow to dilate when her induction began. After hours upon hours, it became obvious that Taylor wouldn’t be able to have a natural birth.
The doctors scheduled an emergency c-section delivery and after days of waiting for his arrival, Taylor’s son arrived with grand flair. They had been telling him if he would just come out he would have more room to stretch, and that’s exactly what he did.

Photographer Laura Shockley was on hand to catch the baby’s “Ta-dah” pose as he was being delivered. Both mother and son were happy and healthy just a few days after birth and Angel says today he is the most calm and loving baby ever.
Another amazing delivery story comes from one mom who was doing homework during, yes you read that right, during her labor. Nayzia Thomas was just 19 and a college sophomore when she found out she was pregnant. Her family and friends expected her to put college on hold during her pregnancy, but Nayzia had other plans.

She continued her college classes and completed one paper just hours before giving birth. She says the contractions were painful, but she has a high pain tolerance and knew once the baby was born she wouldn’t have time to work on the paper so she got it done before his arrival.
Nayzia’s delivery went smoothly, but she had a bit of trouble after the delivery had already taken place. Luckily, things worked out and she and baby AJ are just fine and healthy today.

As for the paper she was working on, she received an A, and she was able to finish the semester with a 3.5 GPA. She says other young women should be encouraged to fight through it and stay strong if they find themselves in a similar situation. “You can do it,” she says.
